Then grab your Cricut EasyPress or iron. Peel the plastic and vinyl from your cutting mat. Cricut Tips and Tricks: Some people iron directly on the plastic, but I prefer to use a thin scrap of fabric on top of the plastic. Once done, you can remove the plastic entirely.
So I created a simple guide for you. Download the file and open the Cricut Design Space. Stick a piece of vinyl to your cutting mat, making sure the paper backing side is down.
Start by selecting all shapes of one color in this case, all of the red stripes by holding down Shift and clicking each red stripe in the image itself.
Your design will automatically be split into different mats based on color. Change the Project Copies field to make multiple copies of your project. Remove the project from the mat and then weed out the excess iron on material with a cricut tool. The next step differs depending on who you talk to. Preheat the material where you will be applying the vinyl for seconds with the EasyPress. Send your image to the machine for cutting Once all of your different colors are attached, click the green Make It button to send the image to your machine to be cut.
If necessary, wipe clean with a damp cloth. Now you can weed away the background vinyl and apply it to your project! For example, the image below shows three separate mats, one for each color of the heart, and the shapes are all spaced properly.
You do this on the actual Cricut Explore machine, using the dial. In the next screen, you can set the material you are using. Then click the green Cricut GO at the top of the screen. Keep the EasyPress mat dry.
Hold the EasyPress with a medium pressure on the vinyl for 30 seconds on the front of the material. If you are using a Cricut Maker, you will select iron-on using the menu on-screen.
The vinyl should stick. Remove the EasyPress and let the vinyl cool.
The screen will show a progress bar as your machine completes the cut. It should grip your cutting mat. EasyPress temperature settings for use with the EasyPress Mat are different than settings for use with other pressing surfaces.
